How to write a Fiverr gig that gets orders
Practical tips for a clear gig title, description, packages and images.
Buyers scroll through many gigs and decide in seconds. A clear gig that explains exactly what you offer has a much better chance of being chosen. Fiverr's rules and limits can change, so always check the gig editor for the current ones.
Title
Fiverr adds "I will" for you, so you type what comes after it. Say the result you deliver, for example "rewrite your CV with a clean professional layout." Keep it clear and simple. Titles usually accept only letters and numbers, so leave out commas, ampersands and symbols.
Tags
You get five tags. Use words buyers actually search for, such as "data entry" or "cv writing," and add them one at a time.
Description
- Start with the problem you solve, in one or two lines.
- List what you will do and what the buyer gets.
- Explain how it works in two or three steps.
- Ask for the details you need before you start.
- Keep it honest. Don't promise results you can't control.
Packages and prices
- Offer three clear packages (Basic, Standard, Premium) that differ in quantity, speed or extras.
- Remember that Fiverr takes a 20% commission from sellers, so build that into your price.
- Fiverr may set a minimum price and prefers round figures, so check the pricing page in your gig.
Images
Use a clear cover image with a big title, then a second image showing your packages and a third showing how it works. Don't put phone numbers, emails or website addresses on them.
Keep it on Fiverr
Fiverr doesn't allow you to share contact details or take payments outside the platform. Keep all messages and payments inside Fiverr, and be careful with messages that pressure you to open attachments or move to another app. See my guide on spotting scams.
After you publish
Share your gig link with people you know, answer messages quickly, and ask each happy buyer for a review. See my guide to pricing your services.
